About Us
BVJSS NGO is a non-profit organisation and relies heavily on private donations. Only 4% of our budget goes to administration, the remainder goes entirely to direct program expenditure. Salaries are modest, the office small, and we stretch our funds to maximise their impact.
Put simply, if you could possibly manage to support us, you will transform the lives of children in desperate need.
Since 1860, BVJSS NGO, a charity based in Maharashtra, India, has been working for the welfare and educational needs of street children. These children have fallen through society’s cracks. In Maharashtra, where BVJSS NGO works, the problem is chronic. Street children are forced to do work including rag-picking, begging, prostitution and domestic labour. BVJSS NGO offers the children the opportunity to education.
BVJSS NGO began as the vision of two people, a Sociology professor, and a local teacher, Chairman
(Mr. Shivlal Jadhav) BJVJJ NGO passionate about the rights of street children. It began with voluntary teaching in the slums. Every year BVJSS NGO improves the lives of approx. 5000 street children in Maharashtra and around India, through its programmes including homes, vocational and academic teaching, street schools, medical care, and sanitation. Many foreign volunteers also come each year to teach English, Math, Dance, etc, or provide administrative support.
Many street children come to the centre through the phone support service, Child Line, or through our outreach staff at railway stations. Once a child has been housed in one of BVJSS NGO’s homes, trained staff and teachers assist them with their emotional and academic education.
Through these programmes, and the dedication of the teachers, staff and volunteers, children gain confidence, social values and most importantly, skills which will carry them further in life. If you’d like to help BVJSS NGO through voluntary work, donating or buying our products,

Mission Statement:
Individuals Children are the future of a nation. For an emerging and developing country like India, development of deprived children holds the key to the progress of the nation. It is only through the education of these children that we can address problems regarding healthcare, poverty, population control, unemployment or human rights.
At Bhatkya Vimukta Jati Shikshan Sanstha (BVJSS) Foundation we strongly believe that the desired changes in the lives of these underprivileged children around us will come, only when more and more privileged people proactively participate in finding solutions to problems.
In our journey so far, we have received immense support from numerous individuals across all ages and segments.
We appreciate the valuable contribution of all our supporters. However, to further expand our reach, we seek more such participation in our welfare initiatives for the less privileged children and youth of the country.
Impulse works toward ensuring equal human rights are provided for all, particularly women and children. This mission is two-fold: to provide direct provisions for those in need of care, protection, and empowerment; and to create networks with the community, other NGOs/CBOs, and government bodies to ensure a rights-based approach is used by all, as well as sustainable livelihoods are available for those who need them.
Vision Statement: To enable the creation of a just and equitable social order, Impulse is committed to the goal of enabling individuals to live a life of dignity and respect.
Education to Deprived Children
India is a country of contrasts! The country has as many as 53 billionaires; the fourth highest in the world. But the same country has over 3 million children living on the streets.Among the world’s 10 richest people, four are Indians. On the other side, 17 million Indian children work as labourers.
India’s economy is galloping around 7% GDP growth. But also, 2 million children die before their first birthday due to lack of immunization and medical facilities!
The statement "Children are the future of the nation" stops making sense, then! In fact, it sounds like an ominous prophecy.
BVJSS Foundation believes that the desired changes in the lives of such children will come only when more and more privileged people start participating proactively in finding a solution. The Foundation also believes that the only way to ensure a better future for these children is by educating them.
That is because education is both the means as well as the end; it empowers these children and evolves them as better citizens.
Social Venture Philanthropy
BVJSS Foundation underscores the fact that helping is not simply a matter of dispersing money but of making a deep, long-term commitment and casting a hard eye on results. With this model, the Foundation partners with emerging and committed organizations for various programmes. It tries to build their capacity, training them to gradually sustain and scale up themselves and their activities. It initially offers them the opportunity to reach their potential and progressively scale up and bear the entire weight themselves. The entire management and operation of BVJSS NGO is in compliance with the principles of "Good Governance "and thus sets itself apart with its set norms of sustainability, scalability, accountability, transparency, credibility and effective leadership.
Innovative solution to social and business needs
